Directed by Frank Perry, who was responsible for the award winning David And Lisa and the cult classics The Swimmer and Rancho Deluxe, Doc features an early performance from Stacy Keach (The Long Riders, Road Games) as Doc Holliday and the amazing Faye Dunaway (Bonnie And Clyde, Chinatown) as his infamous lover, Kate Elder.
Exceptionally gritty and profane, with an offbeat, quintessentially seventies tone, Doc aims to explode the mythology of the American West glamorised by Hollywood whilst offering an accurate and graphic portrayal of the events that took place and the legends involved. |
