Based on Philip Barry's Broadway play, HOLIDAY was stylishly directed by Oscar®-winning George Cukor (1964 Best Director, My Fair Lady). The classic film stars Oscar®-winning screen legends Katharine Hepburn (Four-time Best Actress, Morning Glory [1934], Guess Who's Coming to Dinner [1967], The Lion in Winter [1968], On Golden Pond [1981]) and Cary Grant (1970 Honourary Award) reteamed again after starring together in Bringing Up Baby.
Cary Grant plays an iconoclastic young man who's engaged to a snooty, high society heiress (Doris Nolan) but eventually discovers he's really in love with his fiancee's down-to-earth sister (Hepburn). Witty, sophisticated and very funny, the film's romantic message is timeless and the chemistry between Grant and Hepburn is electric. |
